Yes, it’s designed to be a universal fit for most cars/trucks/SUVs/vans. It has adjustable straps to ensure a snug fit and works with both 4 & 5 seat designs. For added assurance, we recommend noting the dimensions listed in the question below and measuring your vehicle's backseat area to confirm compatibility. If you need a larger cover/extender, please check out our XL model. Please note that this is to gain additional seat width - our standard size model will still work just fine in larger vehicles.

How do I install the dog seat extender? Is it easy?
Installing the extender is fast, easy, and hassle-free:
- Insert the hard bottom sheets in their designated spot
- Place the cover over the backseat and secure it using the adjustable straps around the headrests
- Attach the side flaps to the doors with the built-in straps
- Ensure the hard bottom is positioned properly for stability
- Adjust the straps as needed to fit your vehicle snugly
The entire process takes just a few minutes the first time (after which, install takes under a minute), making it perfect for everyday use or long trips!
Can I wash the cover?
Yep! No special products, tools, or techniques are needed. Cleaning the cover is easy - for quick cleanups, wipe it down with a damp cloth or paper towel. You can also use a vacuum to remove dirt, fur, and debris.
For tougher messes, the cover is machine washable, allowing for easy maintenance. Use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals. Once washed, hang it up to air dry—in order to maintain its durability and water-resistant properties, do not tumble dry.

What about a backseat passenger?
Although it’s technically possible, for safety reasons, we strongly advise against our customers using their cover when there will be a passenger in the backseat. The seat extender’s design does allow for partial folding, however, nothing is more important than the safety of your occupants and it’s critical that nothing limit or otherwise effect the functionality, installation, or proper use of seatbelts and children’s carseats. Further, the straps and metal hardware present another potential hazard in the unfortunate case of an accident or other event. The Laws of Physics are not something to take lightly, especially when it comes to the safety & wellbeing of your loved ones.

Can I still buckle my dog in?
Whether or not you use a cover, we strongly advise that you always safely secure your pup with a high quality body harness that you attach to a high quality seatbelt tether using certified connectors only (all equipment should be designed & tested for impact - avoid the cheap untested stuff out there). In the event of an accident, this can help reduce injury as well as help save the lives of the vehicle’s occupants. The Laws of Physics are not something to take lightly.
